R&K Solutions Receives National ESOP Award

R&K Solutions receives an Annual Award for Communications Excellence from The ESOP Association.

December 16, 2020 - R&K Solutions was selected by The ESOP Association as the winner of their 2020 Annual Awards for Communications Excellence (AACE) in the Intranet Category for small businesses. The AACE Awards are hosted each year by The ESOP Association to recognize the outstanding communications and educational programs of its members. During a typical year, the AACE Awards are presented in the summer in Washington, D.C. during the Annual ESOP Conference. Due to 2020’s events, this year’s AACE Awards were presented virtually by The ESOP Association’s President/CEO, Jim Bonham, and The ESOP Association’s Chairman of the Board, Gary Shorman.

The R&K Solutions Intranet site was designed with the employee ownership aspect at the forefront.  “This is the first Intranet that our Employee Ownership Communications Committee (EOCC) had the opportunity to help design.  We wanted to incorporate employee ownership in almost every aspect of our Intranet, instead of having one tab on a page that directed you to a few educational documents”, said Michelle Williams, EOCC Chair. “We are really proud of the fact that our intranet was developed in-house by our talented team of employee-owners.”

AACE Award winners are chosen by a panel of five judges made up of both management and non-management employee-owners, each of whom has demonstrated active experience and interest in the field of ESOPs and employee ownership communications. Awards are based on overall quality and quantity of employee-owner education, contributions of employee-owners, integration of the ESOP into the company culture, frequency of ownership, involvement and/or response of employee-owners, encouragement of ownership attitudes, clear explanations, creative ideas, graphic design, and technical quality. There are only seven AACE awards for both the large company and small company categories - a total of fourteen – among the thousands of employee-owned firms in the country.
