OUR STORY

R&K Solutions is an Employee-Owned, small business specializing in support to real property portfolio managers. Since 1984, R&K has supported government and private sector clients with a full range of services related to facilities inventory, condition and use.

The founders’ vision was to apply expertise in Information Technology (IT) to the tracking and management of real property assets, and we developed and continue to refine automated planning tools for the unique facilities of the Department of Defense. Recognizing that property records were localized and disparate, R&K approached the issue from two directions.

We assisted DoD in developing consistent identification and descriptions of each type of asset, worked on reconciliations, refined asset tracking tools and offered customized software applications tailored to real property requirements from the installation to the headquarters level. Concurrently, we began to offer verification and reconciliation of records by conducting site inventories, to improve compliance with federal asset management requirements.  This corporate understanding of individual facilities led us to design targeted software solutions which offered users better visibility and understanding of their assets. 

From an original staff of three, R&K has grown to more than 70 specialists in our three offices and onsite at client locations in the US and overseas. We offer a wide range of services to real property portfolio managers in the Federal Government, State and Local Government, Higher Education, Healthcare, Corporate and other sectors.

Our Corporate Headquarters is in Roanoke, Virginia. In 1989, we opened a branch office in Alexandria, Virginia to serve the Washington, D.C. region and in 1993, added an office in San Antonio, Texas.

In July 2005, R&K became an Employee-Owned Business, fully committed to the success and satisfaction of our clients. After twenty years of managing R&K, the owners began to discuss management transition strategies for the company. During that period, they received an offers to buyout R&K, but decided to set up an ESOP (Employee Owned Stock Ownership Plan) to provide a way for the employees to share in R&K's success.

This commitment to our customers has enabled R&K to retain many of our clients through multiple consecutive contracts while steadily expanding our client base. Today, we provide valued products and services to DoD headquarters, Services and Agencies, and private industry clients.
